We would like to give you a warm welcome to our Quinta dos
Moinhos, a characterful vineyard in North Portugal. You will
find the quinta, with a free view of the Rio Tâmega-valley, in
the small village of Vila Nune in the wonderful, rural green
Minho province.
The quinta environments are characterized by orange-trees,
olive-trees, cork oaks, peach- and nut trees, and especially by
the typically northern way of viniculture. A brooklet, flowing
into the Rio Tâmega, crosses the some four hectares large area.
The river is on a walking distance of 100 metres from the Quinta
dos Moinhos. You can swim, fish and go kayaking there, or simply
enjoy the serene rest on some small private beaches.
On the quinta you'll find three comfortable holiday homes,
completely and properly furnished: an olive press mill,
tastefully restored, a house where Vinho Verde-wine was produced
in former times and an old drying house for onions. It is also
possible to spend the night on some small camping spots, yet
fitted with modern, comfortable sanitary facilities. You will
find a salt water swimming pool in the centre of our property.
Vila Nune's central position in the Minho province enables you
to make trips to characteristic towns such as Guimarães, Vila
Real, Amarante, Braga and not to forget Porto, seaport town and
capital of the North. When walking you could be surprised by a
pearl lizard or some hoopoos. Coming 'home' our terrace makes an
ideal spot to enjoy a glass of Vinho Verde from our own quinta.
