We organize a
specific program directed to the observation of baleen whales.
This is an opportunity to be side by side with great animals
that are passing by the Azorean Islands on their migratory
course.
Between April and the end of June, the Azorean waters are a
feeding supply reserve to the Fin Whales, Sei Whales, Blue
Whales and Humpback Whales. Every year, we pine for this special
moment: admire the Blue Whales! This in an unusual meeting!
Observe a whale with about 30m – the biggest animal on Earth –
it is a splendid experience. Moreover, when we know that is
specie on verge of extinction.
From São Miguel and Pico Islands, we offer a program made just
for the true whale lovers, for those that are willing to
surrender to the whims of nature and get surprised by its
beauty. Besides the baleen whales, you can see sperm whales and
many dolphins. Sometimes, turtles and seabirds are, also,
sighted.
We recommend a 15 day program to usufruct from all opportunities
that the archipelago offers.
It’s possible to have a program joining the two islands, Pico
and São Miguel.
1st Day -
Arrival to Pico Island and transfer to the hotel.
2nd Day -
8h30am: Welcome briefing, introduction to the Whale Watching
activity, boarding the boats and the animals, education and
investigation actions developed by Futurismo. Environmental
education and security notions on board. History of the cultural
relation between the Azorean people and the whales. Departure to
the first trip to the cetacean’s discovery.
3rd Day -
Whale Watching.
4th Day -
Jeep Safari Full-Day to Furnas with lunch. Visit to the
volcanic smokes, hot-springs and water-springs. Visit to the
natural park – Terra Nostra.
5th Day -
Whale Watching.
6th Day -
Whale Watching..
7th Day -
Whale Watching.
8th Day -Transfer to the airport and departure. |
