VERDEMAR is hidden away among stands of old cork oaks in Casas
Novas.
The old tavern has been completely restored by Nuno and
Christine, your hosts. One of the owners is a professional cook
and artist, the other a furniture restorer.
They offer ten little cottages, i.e. seven en-suite rooms and
three with a kitchen, each one of them with their own unique
touch and Nuno's paintings. The large garden, with its organic
kitchen garden and olive and fruit trees invites you to while
away the afternoon reading your favourite book in a shady
hammock. Or perhaps you fancy a dip in the swimming pool before
going for a little stroll.
This is a special country retreat( 17 hect.) to relax and feel
at home, far away from the stress and formality of city life. A
place to discover the countryside of the Alentejo, with its
exuberant wild flowers in the spring, and its beautiful beaches
(15 min). Enjoy a leisurely breakfast as you plan the day ahead,
and in the evenings you can look forward to a plentiful dinner
cooked with fresh, simple ingredients and served with the
excellent local wines. In the summer dinner is served
'al-fresco', whilst in winter diners gather round the cosy
fireplace....
